Default HK radio and XM question

Hey everyone ok to start of this is my first touring bike so maybe im just being dumb but i bought a 07 SG and i had the fairing off and found out that the bike had the 76165-06a XM installed. Now i cant for the life of me figure out how to turn it on. From what ive read it doesnt seem to need a head unit as its for the HK radio i have. Is there some button combination that operates it? Maybe the unit is dead and i should just yank it out? Thanks in advance

Look on the face of the HK radio. There should be a icon there that says XM. It will be AM, FM, CD, WB, AUX, XM. Just push the XM button and you should have it. Be advised that the AUX icon will not show if there is no plug in the AUX port on the front of the radio.

I believe the XM radio will require a subscription fee before you can use it?

you should also use the search feature, there are already several other older threads relative to this

You have to have a subscription, but the icon should show up on the face of the radio if XM is installed. You will have to access the code for the radio, which is done through the XM icon before you can activate a subscription.

I did use the search feature but I couldn't find anything related to xm operation. My radio has physical cb and nav buttons and I didn't see any xm on the screen. I'll try to find it again at lunch otherwise I'm leaning toward its not functioning.

If the XM icon is not on the front of the radio then the interface is not getting power. Look at the install instruction Uncle Larry posted and make sure it is wired correctly. Is there a 35 pin connector plugged into the right side of your radio?

its a rats nest, i hate when people cant do the wiring correctly, whats a zip tie cost a half a cent lol its looks to be plugged in correctly but ill have to get some volt meter on there and double check power.

Ummm...yeah, that's kind of a mess. Looks like you have a Non Ultra overlay harness on it so it should be hooked up correctly. If it was me I'd start buy pulling the main 40 amp fuse and unplugging all the connectors and replugging and see what that does for you. What's the two black boxes..top of radio and PAC one for?

its a amp of some kind, i cant read the label all the way since they used some double sided tape on it. The amp connects to the PAC and then to the speakers.
