wow is this a common item that breaks? I know a person with the same year bike with the same issue. Except the exhaust broke too as well as the exhaust port studs.(haven't confirmed if they backed out or broke off yet). I can't imagine both studs backing all the way out but hope this is the case.

I have heard of it putting pressure on the pipe and cracking it , so that is why I quit riding till the week end and ill pull it and have a neighbor tack or weld it for me

It probably has been broken for some time. Please check the rubber blocks at the slip-on exhaust support.
The blocks are about $5 and the " L " is about $8.
Throw-in something like an oil filter and online ordering might get you everything at a reasonable price (very close to retail total) and quicker time (no back and forth to dealer), even if you pay about $10 in shipping.
Also review the front motor mount....did it flatten or is the rubber gone?
Something caused excessive vibration or binding.
Replacement of the tab only might just be a result of one the items mentioned.

the part that I need is the part that has the stud to go through that slotted hole at the top- looks like an "L" and goes to the exhaust clamp that supports the pipe
