Default Reviving a dinosaur. First year evo bagger

So I picked this up in a trade. Went from an 1986 xlh1100 to this 1984 FLHTC first year evo. I received this as a basket case and have been working on getting it back together since august. I have mostly been just trying to get it together with some upgrades along the way.

I upgraded to 93+ bags for side hinge lids.
And a 97+ inner and outer fairing for the 6 gauges instead of the one big cluster.

Me and buddy rebuilt the motor and went thru the trans to make sure everything was right there and I have the motor back in it and I am currently finishing up the primary and clutch. I am then gonna sort the rear brakes and then move on to wiring.

Can't wait to ride this one. I have wanted a bagger for a long long time and I am glad to be making progress on it.

Other upgrades include 14" Paul yaffe apes in black, 96+ switches and housings. Arlen ness smooth fusion grips and shifter peg.

I just bought the newer style rear floorboards and mounting brackets. I am looking to get black streamliner floorboard front and rear and a brake pedal.

I am going to shape some foam to stretch my bags which will be 4" down and 5" out. The jury is still out on paint color but I know it will be satin paint to go with my vision of stylin cues from a 40-50's hot rod. Satin paint, scotch brited chrome and gloss black accessories. Will update as I go.

I love Evo's! ...and it's hard to find something more rewarding than riding around on a bike you built from the ground up.

Enjoy! As stated above, that thing should last forever.

Nice, dinosaur?
Ha!
That's a new bike look at all that hi tech stuff...wet clutch, rubbermount, electronic ignition, accelerator pump, juice brakes- so modern! and seating for two.

Dinosaurs are green.

I suppose your pan is a dinosaur haha. I call this one a dinosaur because on the chopped bagger forum most guys are building twinkies and this is a Dino in conparsion lol. And it will be green when it's done.

Some of us bought our dinos new and are still riding them! As others have said, call into the Evo section to meet fellow owners.
