Try hippo hands and full face helmet with tour master pants/transition jacket. Works for me!

I stop riding once the ice starts forming on the roads, or when they start dropping sand, salt, and whatever else they spray on the road when it's supposed to snow.

I did get in several "cold" rides earlier in Novemeber, the coldest one it was just above 32 degrees, maybe 35.

Long johns under my jeans, a bit heavier sock than I usually wear with my riding boots, deerskin insulated gloves, a heavy balistic nylon jacket with a zip out liner (used the liner here!), an extra fleece shirt and was able to keep warm for the 2 hours I was out.

Having the fairings and windshield (and hand warmers!) on the Limited certainly helped block the worst of the wind. My 3/4 helmet was fine without needing any extra head protection.

Worst case I could have put on my snowmobile gear, that stuff is good below zero. Apparently dont' need to wear it when it's in the 30's.

Get a bike with a fairing like my FTLRX and you can drop that temp by 10*

It has been up in the 40's here last week. Bikes out all over in town. Both of mine are in the shop, so I just have to watch.

Heated gear (Gerbing gloves and jacket) and heightened alertness for ice and I'll ride all year in Virginia.

I am 5'8" 225lbs a large fits snug on me, I only weighed 190 when I bought the first gear 4 years ago. The leg length on the large is perfect. I would say if you are 5'9 + go with the xlarge.

Rode once in 12 degrees, I still feel that pain from all those years ago. lol I am a Socal kid so anything less that 60 is crazy to me. Call me fair weather all you like.

But before the bashing starts, I still ride in the winters here in Italy and even have some rides in the snow done.
