Default New switches/housings for ape install

I have a 12 FLHP and was wanting to install 16" hangers and civilize the controls. My run/stop switch as already crapped out (I have it jumped and soldered) and use the console switch. The aux/pursuit switch broke off and I have to operate it with a knife blade. So its time for new switches and housings. Instead of getting wire extensions, I was hoping to buy switches with longer leads. I have seen some that are 48" and some that are 60". What do you guys think will get me by without having to extend if that is possible. I will wait and measure the clutch and brake cables after install. I have a shop manual and police supplement to help me wade through my first install. I have read not to turn on the ignition switch till the ABS brakes are blead properly.. Any insight on length of new switch leads.
Thanks
Mark
