Found this at Yahoo:

Light machine oil... sewing machine oil... handyman oil from the local hardware shop..

on the compressor that blows the horns.. there is an air intake.. it usually has a mesh screen over the opening/hole..

just 1 or 2 drops once a month...in the screen... then operate horn... should suck the oil through the compressor..

found this site... & the last section is on oiling the horns..
5. The compressor should be oiled every four to six
months. Unbolt the compressor and place four to
six drops of oil into the opening of the bolt
housing which is the air intake for the
compressor. If you are unable to unbolt the
compressor remove one of the hoses from the
compressor and place four to six drops of oil into
the outlet. For best result use 10W, WD-40, air
tool oil or any light weight oil.

Fog it's intake with WD40 (With straw) while blowing.
Hearing protection recommended.

Good question, good fix (WD40) recommended, my problem is solved. Money for a new horn is saved.
Thx,
