Default 103" stage IV kit for 96"

Ok guys. A local Indy shop here has a pretty sweet deal going. They apparently got there hands on some of the original 103 stage IV kits for the 96" motor.

Part #27516-08b which is the kit just before they included the CNC mva heads. They are the screamin eagle 110+ heads. And another difference is they include the 259e cams which are the ones I wanted anyways.

The deal is you get free install/labor but they get to keep your original take off parts.

Anybody that has experience with this kit, your opinion on it is appreciated. Trying to decide to go ahead with it or not, I know there's other kit options, just looking for info on this one.

Thanks

I pretty sure there was never a 103" stage 4 that had mva's, only 103" stg 4 kits with the 110+ and now the cnc ported oem heads. That said I don't like that cam much in that app. It'll be a bit doggy especially in an 07-08 bike due to the 2.79 gearing. Need about 195+ccp(I used .030 head gaskets and took out the 251's same as 259e's) and a great tune(forget any canned map, LOL) also to make any 103" with those heads fun to ride. With no labor charge you could make out ok.

Qtrracer, do you have the 110+ heads or the CNC version? I have been researching the 110+ and getting mixed reviews. That's the only reason I am hesitant about going forward with this.

You have to remember I'm up in Canada so things are ridiculously priced. It will be $2,900 all in including install.

I have the MVA heads, they are the cnc ported 110+ heads on my 103". Gotta put in the right pistons and a .030 hg, hope the pistons aren't too far down in the hole , add a 68t rear belt pulley and have it tuned.Otherwise it'll be hot and dull.

I have another question for you QTR. I have a friend who works at a harley dealer and can get me parts for better prices. So of I were to get him to order me some of the CNC 110 heads, and the shop agrees to switch them out for the 110+ heads, would I be able to use the same pistons etc?

Edit. I did some research and they will work with the kit. Now I have to call the shop tomorrow and see if they are willing to allow me to switch them out.

At 2900.00, it's not that good a deal. You can order a Fuelmoto 107 kit with them for 1299.99 (IIRC, the Canadian dollar is pretty close to ours and they could care less who pays them). You can have them work your heads for an additional 800.00. That leaves quite a bit of money for the install if you don't do it yourself and the bike will run much better and make more power, as all the components set up to work together. I would venture to guess that even the 1299.00 kit without heads will make more power than the 103 kit they are trying to sell you...
