Default WTF! Need Help. Oil filter removed, NO oil draining!

I have never seen this before. I'm doing a second oil change on my 2014 Ultra. Bike is at operating temperature with 3.5 quarts showing on the stick. I pull the oil filter off and 3 ounces drip out. That's all. The oil cap is loose so that isn't the problem. When the bike is running the oil pressure is 34 psi and no top end noise whatsoever. I can't get the oil to drain! Any Ideas?

Thanks,
Dan

^^^^ that

You gotta pull the drain plug, not much will drain with the filter. Small stream and a few annoying drips that about it.

Not much will. The only oil that will drain is the couple of ounces left in the filter after the engine was turned off.

I can't believe it! I've owned 7 bikes and serviced them all. This is the first time I missed the drain plug! A major dumb *** oversight. Be gentle. Thanks for the quick replies.

Oh Dear.

OP- it seems that either you are leaving out a major part of the story...or don't know that fluids seek their own level.
that is why the drain plug is at the bottom.

Not everyone is born to be a wrench...not everyone had a Dad who showed them...not everyone had trades classes at their school.
or the interest or aptitude- and that's ok.

Most dealerships offer some kinda get to know the bike class/meeting

get a manual

get a Guru to help you out.

I know I have shared my limited knowledge with Guys in my neighborhood who stopped by because they had a concern and know I have bikes.

note that the oil drain plug is on the FRONT of the oil pan ( the tranny plug is farther back and faces down)- DO NOT touch the plug with the allen head

This has got to be a joke or we have one red face out there. Remove the drain plug, not just loosen it.
