Default Using speed bleeders for the first time

My bike has 21,xxx miles on it, and as far as I know had the original brake fluid in it. I just received speed bleeders and am changing them out in order to flush the system of old fluid. Having never had them before, I thought it wise to run through it here first. Here's the plan: Bike on the kickstand, forks turned left so that the reservoir is level. Remove the stock bleeder from the clutch side, replace with new. Remove the right side, replace with new. Attach hose to left bleeder, open 1/4 turn, cycle lever while keeping Dot 4 fluid in the reservoir until fluid comes out clean. Close bleeder and repeat on right side. repeat process for the rear, but with bike on a jack to keep the rear reservoir level.
Is that about it? What am I missing?

John you don't say if you have ABS or not I understand if you have ABS just make sure to leave the ign switch off until you are finished or it can pump air into the system if there is any in there. That is my understanding of it if no ABS you have it covered

Should be fine, just be sure to keep the reservoirs topped off, they are really small. Air pulled thru ABS would not be good.
Not a bash, but I prefer my Mity Vac for the job. I pulled the old fluid from the reservoirs of my bike and three autos, then refilled, to not pull old fluid thru the system. Then bled the lines of them slowly as I refilled, all done in about an hour.
A little penetrating oil on the bleeders before the job is always a good idea, with a snug wrench with good even force - especially on older vehicles.
Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. No ABS on my bike. Got it all dome in about 30 minutes or so without issues and am good to go. The fluid was pretty dark and nasty.
