Default Clutch cable rubbing

Changing bars out and after I got the exhaust off and was removing the stock clutch cable, I noticed where it had rubbed a noticeable spot on the side of the case. Anyone else experience this and how did you prevent it from further happening?

Mine actually rubbed a hole in the cable that is leaking a small amount of oil. Whom ever installed it didn't have it clear of the frame around the rear brake line.

Zip tie it to the wiring right below it.

Supposed to a big spring that wraps around the cable to keep it from doing that.

Don't tie wrap it to the frame unless you want to jack up the cable.
The engine vibrates and it will pull the cable end off at the trans after a year or so. No real damage but it will start leaking trans oil. Been there...

I concur with lp stock has a big spring over cable...... looks like you're running aftermarket cable minus big spring. No tie wraps in that area.

Huh, I'll have to look at mine, I don't remember seeing a spring holding the stock cable down in that area. But it's something to check for sure.

I already have spot on my newly installed clutch cable where it rubbed against something (one of the wire harnesses or maybe the fairing frame) in the fairing and wore through the outer PVC jacket & removed the color from the braiding.....so that was a shitty day. Thankfully it's inside the fairing...

You should see what the squish pipe does to Panhead cases, they are beauty marks.
