Default 12 inch apes on streetglide

Anyone installed the harley 12 inch mini apes on a streetglide? I was told you won't have to lengthen the stock brake and hydraulic lines?

I also believe it's true, but it doesn't look as good as if you did a +2

Be careful with the bar height though. Depending on your size you may or may not be able to use/see the stock mirrors.

I second that statement. I have the Paul Yaffe 12in apes on my 08 SG and it can be tricky holding the handle bars and looking under you arms to see through the stock mirrors.

I did 14's but also had the cable kit done for an additional $340. It looks perfect and very clean. Also braided lines also. If you're doing bars why have cables sticking out. Keep the lines clean and do the extension kit.

I installed the HD 12" batwing apes on mine. Stock cables and brake line will have to be rerouted but it's no big deal. Be sure to change your riser bushings while you're in there. I'm still using the stock SG mirrors but they suck and I'm looking to replace them with a low profile bar mounted mirror

thanks for the replies. I think this is the route i am going to go. One more question does HD make a longer set of wires to go with higher bars? So you dont have to cut and splice?
