Default High oil and head temperatures.

Went on a ride yesterday through Palm Springs with temps at 100+ ambient. I know that my 2011 Ultra Limited can run warm, but I had to pull over to cool down bike after the oil temp reached 320* with the head temperature at 315*

Did you get a different exhaust so you don't have the catalytic converter in your exhaust yet ..?

100 degrees ambient is not warm, it is hot, hot, hot. Those oil temps are also pretty hot, but I don't think they are critical. The first thing that came to mind is "I wonder how fast they were riding?" If you were in downtown traffic going from stoplight to stoplight, that would be normal. If, on the other hand you were cruising along on the open road at 60 mph, then I would think those oil temps were unusually high.

How will that lower engine / oil temperature?

Riding in 100 degree temps is quite normal in CA. Those temps do seem high. I don't believe that my 2011 Ultra has ever run that hot and I've ridden in temps up to 108.

It was an end to a very long day and I had the bike cooled down going through Joshua Tree National Park at 50MPH for 50 Miles, down hill for the most part. I did get a little traffic when I came out of Mecca Ca, so I was riding 70MPH and the bike temperatures started to rise when I sarted the slow climb west bound out of Palm Springs. I slowed to 65 then to 60 to try to cool down temps, then I hit a wall of traffic which caused the already high temps to soar, I limped to a rest stop and let the bike cool down.

Harley test these bikes in the AZ desert. Hell i have seen a video where they start the bike and park it a closed off area and let it idle for hours.

The bike can stand more heat than most humans can.

Ride it. If you get hot pull over. Heat stroke will do more damage to you than heat will do to the bike
