Default After all these years I figured out why Harleys are so attractive.

They get into your blood. WE all know it. I think I know why. It's the firing order. Or more specifically the exhaust sound. It sounds just like a heartbeat and who wouldn't love that?

I know I love it. You know the old saying, if I have to explain it ... You just wouldn't get it.

If my Harley sounded like a Goldwing/BMW I wouldn't own a Harley.

Thats an excellent point.

Now I understand.

Checkers,
I appreciate your sign line... "dragonslayer." Interesting dynamic with the 18 wheeler comment. They succumb to the dragon. LOL

Maybe that was funnier in my head.

I WAS of the opinion that the cost for a Harley was insane and bought a Jap bike. Fast Forward a couple of years and bought "Black Betty" and after a few rides on, and I cant really describe it, but ya just know, why a Harley. Does that make sense?

I have a 2000 Deuce and a 2003 883R with carbs that sound better than Beethoven's 5th Symphony when idling. Some how that sound just grabs you.

Also even though it has FI my 05 Deluxe with V&H Longshots comes very close to the right sound.

I was on metrics until I turned 65. I got my first HD in Aug. 06 it was an 07 FXSTC in black and chrome. I have gone nuts over HD's sllince then. Somebody stop me I need help.

Hey, you don't need help, you just need to ride! Rode my first Harley at 13 years of age, and drooled until I could finally get one. Rode everything else in the meantime, but now I'll never ride anything else. What can I say? Everybody on this site knows what I'm talkin' about.

yesterday on the highway, absolutely love the sound of deceleration on a harley, when riding it sounds like the bike has a snarl to it
