trailer versus loading down the bike

I looked it up myself because I was interested too. Has receivers that mount where your saddle bags attach. As far as the lights and license plate being covered they sell a light bar with license plate holder. I don't think there would be to much issue with plate being covered. Think how many cages have something hanging from hitch receiver such as bicycles or luggage type racks that seldom have issues that I ever heard of. I wouldn't be to concerned with brake lights because of tour pack but turn signals would be an issue. Always have the old fashioned hand signals I guess.

I do like having my trailer and have used it for multiple different things. I have never had any issues besides all the ones everyone has mentioned. Friends want you to haul their stuff, wife over packs ect. Extra room for stops and goes. And backing up can be a bear so try to remember that.

So I ended up buy a Rivco hidden hitch from a member here.
It also came with a wiring harness but it didn't work so I bought one from Open Road Outfitters.
The hitch and harness was easy to install.
I towed the trailer for the first time on Sunday.
It towed great in the twisties and going 75 down the straights.
Going on a one week camping trip in a week.

Just got back from a month long trip to New Orleans, California, Wash. and back home without a trailer and had no issues. I have sleep apnea and have to carry a cepap machine also. Packed clothing for 4 days and even took heated jacket liners ( which we used a lot ) chaps, gloves etc. Did wash every 4 days
We did make 2 shipments back home thru UPS along the way as we collected stuff. I personally do not want to deal with the hassle of towing, storing etc.
No need for a trailer if you pack smart IMHO
