Default 106" big bite kit with Andrews 48 cams

Just wondering what thoughts are on the above combo. I just did the cams on my 2010 street glide but now am considering a big bore kit...most likely the s&s 106"....will I need to change the cam?

The stock 85cc chambers with the S&S 106 kit is 10-1 which is borderline for 48s. CCP will be 202 with stock gaskets. Make sure ya add compression releases.
If ya are going big bore there are better piston and cam choices.

48's were designed and made for a 96"CI motor.

Default 103" 48 Cams

This is an example of a 103" and 48's, with a .030 Head gasket. If this looks like you enjoy it, go for it. My guess is the tune will be critical to the success.

As stated before, make certain you add compression releases. The Screamin Eagle ACR's work very well.

Don't need compression releases and a 103 will run just as good all day ...I run a 107 ( no CR) my buds have 103-107, 117 no one leaves anyone in the dust. Get a good tune!

Default S&S

save your $,get a set of SE flat tops and have the stock cylinders bored. Save the extra cash or put it into your heads.

To clear things up:
a stk 96 should crank @ 182 if it is zeroed out deck and running .045 hg (probably less as stock pistons are usually down the hole a bit)
a stk 96 with 48's should crank over at 183 assuming the same(or less for the same reason)
a 106 with 48's should crank over at 212 with .030hg

anyone that claims a 106 and 48's (assuming stock heads) would be just fine w/o compression releases is living in fantasy land
