Default Harley Recalling 46,000 Baggers??

Have any of you seen this?

Harley-Davidson is recalling nearly 46,000 motorcycles in the U.S. because they could stay in gear due to clutches that won't fully disengage.

The recall covers certain Electra Glide, Ultra Limited, Police Electra Glide, Street Glide, Road Glide and Road King models from the 2014 and 2015 model years.

Harley-Davidson Motor Co. said in documents that gas bubbles can cause the clutch master cylinder to lose its ability to fully disengage the clutch, especially if the bike has been parked for a long time. This could cause a rider to lose control of the motorcycle if it's started in gear.

The problem was found through customer complaints. Harley reported 27 crashes and four minor injuries.

Dealers will flush the clutch and rebuild the master cylinder. The recall was to start April 23.

I thought this clutch issue had already been dealt with, but obviously not fully.

This and the interlocking brake issue make me happy I went with the Road King. I do hope they get these issues resolved soon though. I have friends that have bought new Ultras.

I have had zero issues in the 12000 miles this 14 limited...other than the radio...the recall for the brake line took 30 minutes... the recall on the clutch took 45 minutes...nether gave me trouble prior or after...this newest recall will be dealt with if and only if I feel or recognize the clutch acting differently, im not going to just bring it in and let them play around with it again. I bought the bike in June 14 and the vin is on the list for this recall.

There is a web site link in one of the posts in the Rushmore forum that you can enter your VIN to check if your bike is on the recall list. Apparently, its bikes built from April through November '14. I live in Florida and my bike never sits for more than a few days, so I'm not worried about any issues but will be bringing it in when getting the 5,000 mile service.

What interlocking brake issue?? I've never heard of any problem with this. Mine has worked flawlessly and would never have one of these beasts without it. Until you've ridden with it for awhile, you just don't know what your missing. It improves the handling of the bike tenfold. I can come to a complete stop with the bars turned all the way using the front brakes without the bike wanting to fall. I wouldn't try that on any touring bike without linked brakes. JMHO
