I went with the Heat Demons too. They work great and I don't have to worry about replacing the whole thing if I just want new grips. I think I paid $100 on eBay. Installation was easy enough, but did involve removing the fairing to undo the TBW harness.

I have the '12 CVO style heated grips on my RK and have been great. But, like 2AMGuy, heated gloves might be the better solution.

Heated gloves are definitely a better option for longer rides in colder weather. The problem with heated grips is that if your gloves are too thick the heat doestn't get through the palms and if they're light enough to feel the heat off the grips then the back of your hands freeze. But heated grips, like a heated seat, are great when you get caught coming home a little later than you expected and aren't dressed for a cooler ride than planned.

On long rides, especially in the spring and fall, I prefer heated glove liners. They aren't expensive and work with any gloves that'll fit over them. Those and a heated vest are perfect for winter rides too.

I use Oxford Hot Hands. They are wraps that go over your existing grips. The wires look like ****, but I pull them every spring, and put them back on in the fall.

My '14 Limited came stock with the heated grips. While I'm not excited about the way the stock black grips look, I won't spend hundreds to change them. I don't know how long they'll last - but I can tell you the dial goes from 0 to 6, & I can't get it past 2 without them getting too hot. So far I'm happy with them.

Sorry for the vagueness of my post, I bought a set of take off oem heated grips in the classified section here and have decided not to use them. I sent the OP a PM as I did not know if it was proper to post a "for sale" item in this thread. Anyone interested in these oem grips shoot me a pm.

I put Avon heated grips on my road king this winter - they were half the price of Harley grips and offer different styles.
