Default HELP - 2011 Road Glide TSSM

Put in a set of LED bulbs this weekend, and now I am getting codes:

B1125 - Left signal short to voltage
B1125 - Right signal short to voltage

I did have to widen the bulb sockets a bit with a pencil grinder, but was very careful, and did not touch the socket contacts that connect to the bulbs.
I have tried to clear the codes via the speedo, and via the power vision...they keep coming up.

Did I smoke my TSSM somehow? Putting in normal 1157's does not make the problem go away

Open to any and all

Thanks

metal dust in the sockets from the grinding shorting them out maybe. It could have gotten behind the plate the contacts are in. also check the wires where the enter the socket that you ground on , if the metal got too hot maybe it melted the insulation where it enters the socket

Id agree with sidecar that this has something to do with the grinding. My LEDs threw codes until I added the load equalizer and putting the 1157s in cleared them.

Just curious, what kind were you using that didn't fit in the stock socket?

Bought off ebay. I have used others from the same dealer problem free, but I have always had to grind just a smidge off of the socket. You can see in the pic that where the socket meets the led's they have a bit of a lip. They are VERY bright though!

If your bike didnt have LED's to start with, you will have to add a resistor to balance the load. Very common from what I have read on other forums.

Your exactly right, I always have had to add load with the older bikes, and just took for granted that when I put LED's in the rear, with no issues, the newer style modules had the capability built in.
This is not the case.
From what I know (or have read) the 2012 up modules can be "trained" to run LED's on both ends of the bike. Mine being a 2011, will still require an equalizer to run both ends

I am going with a plug and play:
BIKETRONICS - BT801M '10 & later FLTRX/FLHX

There tech help was awesome!!!
