KBB for my zip code has the trade in for 2006 Harley-Davidson FLHTCUI Electra Glide Ultra Classic at $8,820 and that is account for 40K miles on it.

Think everyone is aware that the dealers don't have a lot of room to play on the new bike prices. My understanding is that they all have to charge pretty much the same. Where they DO have some room to play is on what they offer on trade-ins. It does not have to be the book trade-in value. My closest dealer wanted full retail on the new bike, I get that. But they wanted to make about three grand on my old bike as well. I got a better offer from another dealer, and you probably would also.

8820 sounds like the retail price. the dealer pays wholesale price, so that 6500 bucks may be or close to the right number. hey they have been selling a lot of Harleys for a few years now. A lot of used Harleys have hit the market and more supply means lower cost if the demand is not there for a used Harley.

8820 compared to 6500 is a big difference. The dofference in me buying a new bike. I just wish Kbb or nada was it. Its hard to budget stuff when dealers make up their own rules. There is nothing out there for the consumer. its all back room stuff i feel. No biggie. i love my bike. Its just some more budgeting realization of the stealership once again.

Im always stressed out when wanting to purchase another vehicle. same long and tedious process.

Thanks for letting me vent.

You might check other dealers, could be better elsewhere on both trade and new bike.

Or if you're willing to hold off 'till say August, I'm sure deals are to be had at that time.
