The exhaust for an '09 should fit a 2001, right? The only thing I would need to do is plug the O2 sensors, correct?

I put a 2010 stock 2 into 1 with a Night stick exhaust on my 2000 RG and it bolted right up. No modifications required, if that says anything.

If you look at my kids road glide, it has bungs in the 02 sensor holes. There is a specific pipe for the 2009 so I would make sure you order the one for 1999 - 2008.. The 09 has a wider frame and different mounting points, because the tranny is different.. the pipe MIGHT be the same, but the mounting bracket will definitely be different..

Road Star asked if I could post a couple of mounting pics. Not the best but gives you and idea. The mounting bracket mounts to the bottom of the transmission with 3 bolts. Then the muffler bolts to the brackets with 2 bolts. you can see we put a couple of spacers on the muffler mount, as it seemed like it was stressing the mount without them.. The bracket itself is also made from stainless steel..

I am reminded that I did use the mounting bracket from the previous exhaust (a Patriot Defender,) at the transmission mounting point - not the stock unit from the factory. Thanks E-Man...

Everything else, including other frame width differences, no problem.

OK, what the heck... I ordered one. It's only $214, I usually spend that on sushi in a month.
We'll see how it goes.

I don't think you will be sorry. Great bang for the buck. Just installed another one on my 09 EG. Love it!!
