Your bike is barely broke in. The only reason I would trade my bike in, is for ABS.

I bought my '03 in '11. I put 6-9k on a year. I have 30k miles now. This winter I had the SE tensioner upgrade, front engine mount, grips, rebuilt front calipers and pads, new tires. I think my bike handles like new. Many say the '09-13 handle better, but ignorance is bliss.

Now if you were retiring and going to be touring long distance, than I could see it.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I went from a 2005 Classic to a 2012 Limited and there are a lot of advantages. 88/95 vs. 103. 6 speed vs. 5. Heated grips, ABS, Security System, upgraded frame, better ride, better handling, better sound system.

I totaled the 2012 with 31,000 miles on it in November and replaced it with a 2013. I paid 18,500 for the 2013 with 2,216 miles on it, so don't pay too much if you decide to up grade. These things are available for less than a lot of people would have you believe.

My opinion, like others, is that if you are not going to be able to ride any more in the future than you have ridden in the past you are not going to get you money's worth from an upgrade. If you are going to be able to ride and enjoy the bike, then the 2013 would definitely be a worthwhile upgrade.

I've got a 2013 limited and i love it. i traded up a few years ago from a 2010 ultra classic. Nothing wrong with not wanting to get a rushmore. i had thought about getting a new one a couple of times but i couldn't justify it. i was at the stealer yesterday and their limiteds were about $28000 or so. thats a considerable chunk of change especially if you don't ride a lot. i fell in love with a 15 limited CVO but at $41099.00, I walked away knowing i couldn't in any way shape or form justify that much money for a motorcycle.....although it was pretty. don't take offense with the folks here in the forum being blunt......they just get right to the point. nothing personal was intented. I kind of agree with others that with the number of miles you ride, the investment might not be worth it......but then again, who hasnt dropped cash once in awhile on things that werent worth it. either way, enjoy the ride and stay safe.

My 2 cents. You really have to consider a 2015 if you want a better suspension and new features. I own a 2013 and I love it but to be honest a 2015 has my bike beat in many ways. Better suspension, brakes, lighting, engine, clutch, gps, stereo etc... Wait a year or two and buy a used 15 limited.
So can you explain to me ,if the 15 Rushmore has a better susp than your 13,why did you spend at least 800 on shocks and 350 on front forks.Just askin.or is that what you put on the 13

I changed the suspension on my 13 limited. Rear air shocks are horrible for two up touring and front suspension was even worse. I do not own a 15.

I had a 2010 SG prior to my 2014 Limited, had a 06 Electra Glide Standard before the 2010 SG, so every time I traded I also upgraded in ride and handling but to say the 14 Limited is better imo is an under statement, the new rushmore bikes are so much smoother and handle so much better that I really have to watch how fast I ride when leading and I'm riding with friends with older model bikes from 13 models and down. I don't mean that in a bad way it's just these newer bikes will eat up the curves with ease and I'll run off and hide from the pack if I don't watch it, my fault I know but I just can't express how much better they handle than what I had.
So if I was considering a trade I wouldn't consider anything from a 13 down and if money was an issue I'd wait until I could get the 14 or newer. This is my opinion and not all will agree with me but to me this is honest advice and not trying to offend anyone at all.

Sorry to get off the O.P. I have a 10 year maintenance contract with my dealer so every 5,000 miles my butt gets to ride a new limited for 24 hours. This year it will be on the 2015 limited. Hands down a better bike than mine but unfortunately I refuse to take the hit and trade up. My 35K service is right around the corner and I hope to surpass 100K before my will is broken and I upgrade. The key word is "HOPE". Unfortunately I have another passion called snowmobiling that quickly empties my wallet and limits my funds on two wheels.

I bought a new 2000 Ultra and had it for 13 years and 77,000 miles.
During that time, I had a Baker DD6 trans installed as well as a "95" Big Bore Kit with a Stage II tune.
I loved that old bike but there comes a time (especially if you tour) that having a more dependable bike (that you can get worked on) makes sense.
My bike had lots of upgrades, including the S/E Cam adjusters but it also still had the MM EFI system so I knew it was time to change up.

I bought a new '13 CVO Ultra in Sept. '12 (sold the old bike the following year to a very happy rider).

Having the '13 model year, I will say that now they have seemed to have the bugs out of the Rusmore's, some of the newer features look great.
For me, the greatest improvement was the saddlebag locks, and the new "infotainment" on-board GPS,phone, etc.

Not enough for me to give up my current "tailored-to-fit-me" '13 model anytime soon, but I may be seriously thinking that way for an '18 Tri-Glide!

The post 09 frame is a great improvement along with tires that better match the bikes size and weight. The 13 comes with a factory 103 better torque.
Question is ..s it worth it to you to trade .Some have mentioned how many miles you ride. It is a valid point to consider. But may be meaningless if you really want the 2013.
