Default 07 FLHR hard seat

I just acquired a 07 FLHR and I was wondering did the factory make a shorter seat? This seat is hard as a brick after 100 miles, same for the passenger. I like to keep factory look but I will change. Any recommendations?

Go to your local Harley store and tell the parts clerk you would like to try out some of their "Demo Seats". They keep these in the back room. There are about a dozen or so of these seats that they have on hand to loan out to riders so they can see what they like, before they buy. They will usually let you use it for two or three days so you can take it out and ride the hell out of it. Some are for riders with long legs, short legs. Tall riders, fat riders, skinny riders, you name it, they have a seat for you. Depending which seat you fall in love with, they cost about $275.00 up to $800.00 or so. My fav is the "Hammock." There is no charge to demo a seat.
Bye the way, that is a clean bike you have acquired. Looks like a garage queen.

That's the same seat I had on a 2004 Road King.... road it from Chicago to Birmingham and back.... yeah, it sucks!!
I decided to "try" a Sundowner seat (with black studs) and was amazed at the comfort!!
Order it from an online HD site and you can save up to 20% of the list price.

As Retrop stated above, your local HD shop should have some rental seats to try out.
(The Hammock seat is very nice, but pricey; I've only heard good things about them!)

They wont' have any for an 07 unless you're REALLY lucky. The seat isn't mounted the same as the 09 ( I think) and newer bikes. If you're at a rally, some of the seat vendors will have some demos that fit.

I just bought a Mustang 75464 to replace the same seat you have, on my '04 RK. Noticed the difference just driving out of my driveway. I put 60 miles on it and didn't have to adjust my *** once. It now has 100+ and is breaking in nicely.
I got it from DCP, just under $400. (My local HD dealer sucks. They don't do 'demo' anything).

DCP= https://www.directcycleparts.com
The passenger part, (the whole seat for that matter), is 3+" wider than the stock. Wife loves it.
