Long rides
The stock windshield (10") on my Limited was fine for short rides of an hour or so. However, last year I rode from PA to WY. On the second day my neck was stiff from scrunching down to avoid the buffet on the top of my helmet. My neck was so stiff I had to stop every 20-30 minutes for relief.
On the third day I stopped at a dealer and got a 12" windshield. What a difference. The rest of the trip I could sit comfortably. It was also better at diverting the bugs. It may not be fashionably short, but I can sit for hours and enjoy the ride.
I'm 6-2, so depending on your size and seat, it may be hard to see over, but it feels so much better to sit upright for the long rides. The other windshields with the reflex bend may do the same job but I didn't want the distortion when looking through the windshield in the rain. If you never ride in the rain, the bent windshields would be a better choice.
