Default Taking delivery of Police Electra glide

Hello, I bought a Fatboy lo last September, put a fairing on it and rode the **** out of it. Last weekend the wife decided she wanted to go with me up to DC for Rolling Thunder. She bitched the whole time about it being cold on the way up, and her back and *** hurting on the way back. Plus she complained about not having saddle bags to put **** in.

Once we got home, I told her I would buy some saddle bags and a new seat and back rest for her. She said you might as well just buy a new bike. Well to me that sounded like approval. I have been up to the local shop a few times and they have a new police Electra glide that I have been wanting. So today, I went up and made an offer, tomorrow we do the paper work.

I and them throw in a actual seat that she could use, and I already have a backrest from my Road king. So I just need docking hardware and floor boards and mounts. They are giving me a seat off of an Ultra, it's a little bigger then I would have picked but her *** shouldn't hurt now.

I'll keep you guys posted

Maybe she was complaining 'cause she was sitting on that fender bib w/o a backrest.

Congrats on the Glide. Show some pics!

Congrads. I love mine, was real low miles (7400)!
Made it SG look with spots, love it!
De-catted it and removed the ugly saddle shields. I also had it striped couple weeks ago.
Good luck and lets see it later.

Thanks guys. I'm super excited. 6 hours left. I need to find some floor board brackets. I wish there was a motorcycle junk around around that I could yank them off of.

I don't know if it is still true, but when I was looking at pre-09 FLHTPs, you couldn't use the police tire, 2 up. The run flats were thicker, and would rub on the fender 2 up, so I was told to get a stock tire for 2 up. Check on that.
Good work wearing down the wife, until she "made" you buy a new bike!

Agree here with Ron....Check the tires on that police bike Jagger. Originally the police units were equipped with "run flat" tires ( D402F PT Mt90B16 Blackwall,) which are designed for one rider only.

Back when I was in the business, we took in police bikes and swapped the run flats for regular Dunlop 402's before the bike was put on the sales floor. Some dealers don't do that.
