Default Cable Lengths for Apes?

Hoping someone can help with cable lengths needed for 16" Wild 1 Chubby apes. They will be going on an '07 FLHRC.

Tried doing a search and found lots of posts on the bars but couldn't find specifics on the cable lengths needed.

Thanks!

Even if you find the lengths posted, measure your setup anyway. This will either confirm what you found or tell you what you need. I use a piece of thin cable and route it along where I want my new cables to go. That measurement will be sheath or covering length. The actual cable will be slightly longer.

bikerdawg just started that same setup today. +8" clutch looks to be perfect but wont know for sure until tomarrow morning. used +8 thottle cables but could have used+10. used the harley braided front brake line kit and replaced the upper hose with a 32". if you use +10 throttle cables I would use a 34" hose and then you could use the Arlen Ness style billet clamps to hold the real nice to the bars. looks super clean that way.

Bikerdawg, I just had 18' apes put on my rk custom. +10 cables were used, and they fit perfect. No binding and not to much slack. Since you are going 16", I would suggest the +8, like hogdoc posted. Also, those Ness style billet clamps do really make a clean look, but keep in mind, the cables will move around when turning the bars and such and MAY wear the plastic sheath over the braided cables, and at some point you may have to replace the cables. That is why I held off on installing them, and I think it looks fine without the clamps.

Yep the +8 clutch was just right but I would use +10 on the throttle cables with the 34" upper hose

Gotta agree with hogdoc. I used +4 on idle/throttle & hose and +3 on the clutch for 10 inch apes.
