Looks like they improved it. They added the word "grueling" and a seal at the bottom. My certificate from 2008 is just a plain piece of paper printed on a laser printer.

Never understood the whole "iron butt' thing but if you liked it, that is what counts.

EPIC! Very cool to see you gals pulled it out without any issues. The most I ride is about twelve hours and about 700 miles. We do an annual ride to Tombstone Az. for Helldorado Days in Oct. I feel pretty good after arriving there and I feel that I can do another 300 miles if needed. Congrats to you, and now you guys have a handful of stories that can be told over a cold one.

I just received the official notification from Mike Kneebone on my SS1000 I did last month. WOO-HOO!!

I didn't just hop on the bike and go 1000 miles - nooooo - I went with my dealer on a (complete as possible) Route 66 trip (that was an experience in itself) then rode to Denver to start the SS1000. What crazy person rides 3000 miles just to START a 1000 mile journey??? - - Me!

Wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Even took extra gas bottles just in case - didn't need.

I decided I wasn't in a race so I was going to take the whole 24 hours. Did a 3 hour "nap" a little over half way. At 71 I'm not in a hurry anymore. I'll leave that up to you youngsters. Just took it easy and enjoyed the scenery - what I saw of it.

When it was all over I realized I really screwed up. I was so happy that I did it, I went directly to my dealer to get the witness/milage form signed that I forgot to get an ending gas receipt = dumb ****!

I panicked and e-mailed the IBA and told them about all the other proof I had, but they said you HAVE to have the beginning and ending gas receipts. Bummer. Then he said did my last gas stop fall within the requirements. I checked and found that I left the toll way at just over 1000 miles (50 miles short from my original destination) due to road construction. I guess that receipt was enough for my certification - Thank God.

As Mikey once said, "Try it, you'll like it"

The weather was great for most of the trip. I ran into some rain from Des Moines to Rockford, Il. (5 HOURS) then nice weather the rest of the way.

Congrats on the ride and nice time. Always glad to see the women out riding and accomplishing the longer rides.

The wife and I did our 1000 a couple years ago and last summer we did the Bun Burner 1500 in just over 22 hours. Next July, we head out on our Coast to Coast to Coast that will take us from Key West to Prudhoe Bay, AK and back to Key West in 30 days or less.

Here's out 1000 story. I don;t think I did one for our 1500.

It's like a hot dog eating contest, but to each their own...
