Default Fuel delivery problem

OK here's the scenario. 2008 FLHT lotsa miles etc. started fine this morning. hit the starter and bam- it's running like usual. Stopped for a couple hours and bike started fine, but wanted to idle a bit slow for awhile. Ran fine. On the throttle, ran fine. Idle came back to normal. stopped again after riding for about 20 minutes or so. Tried to start the bike and nothing. Turns over fine. New battery, less than 1 month old. checked the fuel pump, and it sprays fuel out the relief hole over the regulator.Drained the filter housing and tried again. filled it up fast, then sprayed out that same hole. replaced the regulator valve, no change. It is supposed to vent like that in the case of overpressure, but what caused that overpressure? BTW, pulled spark plug after cranking about 10 seconds, bone dry, no fuel smell at all.pump seems to be operating as it should, so why am I not getting fuel the the cylinders? Tried with filter removed and no change.Ideas?

Remove your gas cap & put it back on; if it starts, then it was the gas cap vent. Happened on my Goldwing.

Most likely is the quick release under the tank. The fitting sometimes gets dimpled by the 3 ***** holding it in, which causes the line to move away and close off the one way valve. Unplug the line from the tank and look at the groove around the fitting. If it has 3 "dimples", it may be your problem. Will need a new fuel line from the tank to throttle body.

Update: pulled the line from the quick release and cleaned, inspected, and reinstalled it. Fired right up.Very happy about that and very pissed that I didn't think of that until bike was on truck on the way home. Oh, well.Spendy lesson, but very well learned.
