Thanks I'm pretty excited about it I've already got everything picked out for a stereo to install and I think I'm going to get a detach kit for the your pack and I'm gonna check those tensioners and if they aren't terrible I'm gonna change them this winter regardless just to make me feel better ha

Thinking of Sony hu with bt71s for speakers and a pbr300x2 amp and that's kinda what I've figured out for a not to crazy expensive but decent system from reading on the forums but open to suggestions just can't get crazy expensive as I'm getting married in a month!

Congrats Wolf
Got mine in 2010 really like it. Aside from what others post get to know your bike. Look at brake pads, yours should have dampening rebound in left fork do not use heavy oil in it will ride like a rock. Does not drain like right side. Check tire date code for peace of mind. Did Hog tunes speakers but used a HD radio. Real nice sound. Google and if you need a front motor mount the sportster or buell front mount is the same mount at half the price. Check battery terminals and look for date on battery. Enjoy your new ride.

2005 FLTRi I have replaced my cam tensioners @ 50k intervals.... Sitting at 125k, the TC-88 is running strong. I think when I hit the 150k mark I will bite the bullet, and go to 95 CID with gear drive cams.
Great bike... and a great year (so long as you don't have any valve seal leakage(another curse of SOME of the 2005s

...... mine's still a babe @ 57k compared to yours, and i had the cam chain tensioners re-shoed @ 47k.
I'd think that if the PO had done Stage 2 work, he likely changed the tensioners while in there,
maybe even went to gear drives just to eliminate future issues.
...... a quick check will provide piece of mind.
... great lookin' motorcycle there, buddy ! ..... looks like your passengers excited to ride also.
Be safe out there.

Yup gonna try and check them tensioners one night this week... Does that gasket usually survive when you check them? Or should I order one before I do it?

I reused mine when I checked them. Just be careful when taking cover off. I figured I was going to upgrade over the winter so put a new gasket in then. If you reuse just keep an eye out for leaks!
