You're not missing the 1/2 moon shaped washer are you? If so, replace it, it's meant to put pressure on the peg. Otherwise I'd say tighten the mounting bolt!

take em off ..put a big C clamp on them and squeeze them a little (very little), put them back on and roll.

I bet $ the moon shaped washer is missing. if so, when he's going around a curve etc it will drop. (experienced that one)

Im not sure what the half moon shape washer is exactly but I do see something wedged between the peg and the mounting bracket. It looks to apply pressure on the peg. I guess it gave out.

The ball is stuck. Spray WD-40 up in there and it should free up. After yo get it working put a dab of grease in there.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot. I didn't know there was a ball in there.

The half moon washer is a spring washer to apply pressure on the foot peg. There should be two oneach peg, one on each side of the peg. If there is only one that could be your problem.

When I checked I saw only one on both passenger pegs.

Your correct, there is no "ball" in there. The "ball" is on a rider/passager Foot Board Assembly and not a PassangerFoot Rest(Peg) Assembly.

Seeing you have a RK Custom that has Foot Rests for the passanger, you will have a "Wave Spring" (what some are calling a half moon washer) that is located on the Pivot pin, between the bracket and the mount.

Do not put a C-clamp on thebracket to adjust this.

The proper adjustment is made by increasing or decreasing the the curvature of the wave spring.

Bracket: portion that attaches to the bike.

Footrest Mount: portion that goes into the bracket and is held in place by pivot pin

Footrest: Pretty cover with rubber insert that slides over mount and is held in place by capscrew through the outboard end.

Assembly:
[ol][*]Install foot rest bracket[*]Align hole in wave spring with bottom hole in footrest bracket. See figure 2-205. Be sure that the concave side is down and the flat edge isagainst the inboard side of the footrest bracket.[*]Holding wave spring in place, install footrest mount between arms of bracket with the rounded side of the pivot pin end up.[*]Install pivot pin into top hole in footrest bracket. Top hole is countersunk so that head of pivot pin is flush after instalation.
Note: Verify operation of footrest mount before installing retaining ring. the ease of which the footrest mount pivots is based on the curvature of the wave spring. Flattening the wave spring allows the footrest mount to move moreeasily, while increasing the curvature makes movement more difficult.[*]Install new retaining ring in groove at end of pivot pin.[*]Slide footrest onto footrest mount.[*]Place rubber pad into footrest.[*]Aplly small dab of LocTite medium strength thread-locker 243 (blue) to threads of socket screw.[*]Start socket screw into end of footrest. Rotate footrest so rubber pad is topside and tighten socket screw to 15-20 ft-lbs.[/ol]
