Fuel cap is rattling/buzzing on my 14 sgs and drives me crazy. About 3k-3500 rpm's is when it rattles, have discovered it's the small plastic catch piece that is the culprit, I can just slightly push down on the button and it stops. Not sure how to fix though, doesn't look like there is a way to tighten it, tried some grease on the plastic piece with no luck, any ideas?
There should be two tiny rubber 'bumpers' that stop the door rattling, are they in place?
Ya, rubber bumpers in place. Not the actual door rattling though, it's the small plastic arm that locks the lid down. If I pop the fuel door cruising around 3500 rpm that little arm is buzzing like a motha.
Does the lid spring up when you push the button? Should be enough upward tension on the latch to keep it from buzzing. I think my push button latch kit came with a different hinge piece to provide more tension than the original one.

Yes it springs up when pushing the button. When the lid is closed I can push it down maybe 1/8", so it does have a little play. May try to take the push button off and try a washer or 2 under the nut to maybe raise the small catch a bit for a tighter latch. Almost like the spring that pops the lid up doesn't have enough tension
After about 10K miles the push button wouldn't release the lid. I cut a couple small squares of gorilla tape and put them over the rubber bumpers, now it works like new.
Tried the gorilla tape method over the rubber bump stops for now and seems to have fixed it. No ride yet bc of rain but the lid is nice and tight now and I have to press down pretty good to latch it. Will have the dealer check it out when I get time
