Seeking sage advice for first time to Sturgis
Just like any place you can spend however much you want but solo $100 or less per day after gas & lodging is very doable. Traveling with a buddy helps split lodging.
I will say no matter the weather where you're leavin from bring warm clothes. I'm on Day 8 of a 21 day trip & I'm in Red Lodge, Montana & it's 43 degrees (in 30's up on the Beartooth Pass) even though it'll be over 90 by 10:00 AM back home.
Anyone on the fence about a trip out here, plan it & DO IT. No matter the cost it is worth it. When/If I'm 80 something I won't remember the cost but I will NEVER forget this trip.

I stay in Keystone, which is close to Hill City. My favorite ride is 16 to 385, up to Lead/Deadwood, then 14 over to Sturgis. I try to stay off of 90. I rode 16A from just east of Mt Rushmore south to 753, then 87 back up to Hill City, nice loop with pigtail bridges, and a cool view of Mt Rushmore from Iron Mt. In Sturgis, I always find free parking in the lot behind the community center, where they have the bike show. The address is 1401 Lazelle Street, if you're GPS'ing. I like to eat at the Gaslight in Rockerville, Lewies Saloon in Lead, and the Mangy Moose in Hill City. Stop by the Prairie Berry Winery in Hill City and get a bottle of Red *** wine. Seriously. Ride safe, pack all your leathers, have fun.
