Default Oil pan removal

Is there a trick to lift the oil baffle to be able to get pan out with motor in bike. I loosened up the front mount goes up 1\2 inch but does very little for the back. My brave that goes across the frame might be bent up some which isn't helping, hard to straighten with rear tire of & on jack. Thinking of stealing bike to rafters if have to.

You have to remove the rear wheel, pan slides out to the rear.

As mentioned it is off but the baffle is stopping it from sliding.

Thanks I seen pics of it on Ronnie's site looks like it has a catch on the right side not sure. Don't want to brake it as all ready have this week's check spent on this project & can't afford much more.

Hope this helps. I've never removed one from this model year.

1. Remove both the engine oil and trans-mission lubricant drain plugs from the oil pan. Drain the fluids into suitable containers.

2. Install lifting strap around frame backbone, and using overhead jack, support vehicle from the top.

3. Remove rear wheel. See Section 2.4 REAR WHEEL, REMOVAL.

4. With a long 3/16 inch ball hex socket driver (Snap-On stock number FABL6 or equal), remove the twelve socket head bolts from the bottom of the oil pan.

NOTE Holes in the frame crossmember allow access to bolts which would not otherwise be accessible.

CAUTION

Remove the engine oil dipstick before attempting to slide the oil pan rearward. Contact with the oil pan will result in damage to the dipstick.

5. Slide oil pan rearward and remove from underside of transmission.

Awesome didn't think of dip stick it was holding but still not sure if I should be prying baffle down. If moved about a inch so for. I'll keep trying carefully

I know on current models you must remove both dipsticks.

2008 is the same so hate to cut it then have oil blowing out my dip stick after. Might have to call it a day. Going to dealer tomorrow so maybe a teck can shed some light. This thing is half way out
