Default Thumb drive instead of Ipod??

Has anyone be able to us a Thumb drive to play music on their new Harley Boom Box Radio? I tried and failed, LOL - can use the Ipod or like device - would rather learn to use the Thumb Drive but can not take time to get a PHD in Computer science - got to be an easier way??

I copied about 270 from my iTunes to a thumb drive and plugged it in
and it pops right up on the media selection. I first formatted it so it didn't have any other files on it, loaded the songs and it plays

I use thumb drives for movies and media with both my Panasonic home TV and the samsung in the RV.

formatting seems to be the big thing- an MS-FAT format seems to be more universal- try formatting teh thumb drive various ways.

I use a mac- on a mac you use disk utility ( in teh utility folder in applications on most OSX versions).

select the thumb drive and click on Erase- you get the option on formating.

try that.

Several types of files besides music on my thumbdrive and it plays it without a problem just as soon as I select "Media".

I copied several albums from windows media player on my computer onto a thumb drive and it plays perfectly on my 2015 Ultra Limited. These albums were copied from CDs to media player. They didn't come from iTunes.

Yeah, all mu tunes are in .mp3, .mp4, or .wma format and no issue playing on a thumb as long as they are unprotected.
