Default New guy with an exhaust ?

Just bought this Ultra Classic anniversary and I thought it was stock. A couple friends have said it is way louder than stock. Someone even mentioned it may have a stage 1 kit? Just curious as to what I have here. I don't see any name brand on the mufflers and notice that the right side exhaust is a bit darker than the left. Is this normal? Also, the air cleaner has no back to it, it is all open. Thanks for the help

Looks (again...LOOKS) like it has had a stage 1 done to it. I don't know the brand of exhaust...but those aren't stock Harley mufflers. Backing taken off the air cleaner is done when they turn it into a high-flow setup.

I am sure someone here can probably guess better at the exhaust system than I can. I can't quite tell but it almost looks like the left pipe is a ghost pipe and you have a 2-1 setup. When you run the bike does the left pipe actually get hot and emit exhaust? If not...it's a ghost pipe. I ask because of the shot of the rear, it doesn't look like there is exhaust residue at the end of the left pipe, and you have back cylinder pipes running both to the right and to the left. Which one is actually attached to the rear cylinder?

Thanks for the reply ! I do get exhaust out of both, Though slightly more pressure from the right. I would imagine because both heads exit out the right pipe while the left pipe T,s into the rear head. Here is a picture of the rear head. You can see where the left pipe T's into it.

I will agree with your assumptions, it looks like it had been brought to stage 1. Like someone else said the pipes are different and the backing on the a/c has been removed. If they went through all that trouble they probably flashed the bike too. Looks good.

Nice looking '08 Stock HD headers, After market slip-ons look like Rush. If you take the cover off your filter and its round not oval someone has done the stage 1. You should be able to clean it and use the K&N filter kit. With the stock headers on the right side pipe will see more heat and carbon build up. The left will see more when you do true duels.

That's definitely a stage 1 air cleaner. Not sure about the exhaust

Stock Harley mufflers do not have baffles held in with nut and bolt.Rt side exhaust always darker than left unless you have true duals.
