Default Best route Oklahoma City to Eureka Springs

Hi All

Looking for a FUN long one day ride to Arkansas. Thought taking 412 from Tulsa to Springdale, but don't know the roads well. We are looking for a fun scenic ride from OKC.

Thanks a head for your help.

Having a little more info might help. Like how many hours/miles in a day you are comfortable with, etc. Or if you are like me, you have rode everything close to home, so sometimes its best to just get on a main highway and get part of the way there and then find a scenic route. But that being said and no other info, here is a pretty good one.

take 35 north, 33 east to Drumright. 99 north to Hominy, 20 east all the way to the Arkansas line. From Ark line, take 72 east to Hiwasee, 279 northeast to why 340, take 340 east (it turns into 94 for some reason) to Pea Ridge, it gets a little tricky here, take 800/801/700/68 till it runs into 62, then 62 the rest of the way to ES.

I'll see if i can make a map and post.

Everything north of i-40 is great. Hell, everything south of i-40 is great also, just maybe slightly less. Any route that includes hwy's 23, 16, 123, 7, 21, 43, 74 is good. Since you are doing a 1 day ride out and then back, try to stay of major hiways and include the smaller ones. You really cant go wrong with a choice of roads in that area. Even the state hiways are good. Good road surfaces, good signage, little traffic, good scenery and twisty roads. Probably my favorite place to ride and i've ridden almost all the western part of the state. Not a lot of gas places in some areas, so fill up when you can.

you may want to get on google maps and look at the roads in Arkansas a little closer to get a better idea what it looks like.

All I know is there is a smoking hot chick at one of those restaurants in Eureka Springs that wears mini skirts and those striped leggins. We called her Pippi for Pippi Long Stockings.

Check out Beaver Bridge also. It's a suspension bridge over the White River, very cool to ride across and beautiful area.

man you're looking at a long day of riding and not being able to take in much without stopping for at least 1 night.... but if that's your plan, i would take I44 thru Tulsa to 412 into Arkansas and to Springdale, then up I49 to Rogers and 62 over to Eureka Springs. Coming back down 23 to Ozark where you can take I40 home or come on down 23 to US71 and then SH28 back into Oklahoma and US270 thru McAllester and 59 back to I40 or from there back roads back to OKC>>

THIS^^^^ Took this route from Stillwater and it is the best and fastest. DO NOT go thru Springdale. Once you get to ES you will have plenty of pretty roads to ride.

Wow thanks all. Yes it was a 3 day ride that got cut to one. I was trying to go to the Balloon Fest in Albuquerque, that didn't work out either. We are talking about another 3 day Arkansas ride in a few weeks.

Now where does Peppi work?
