You can use either HD Syn 3 or Formula +.

Are you looking for the old Primary Chaincase Lubricant, or the newer Formula or the newer Syn3?

 

I used the old Primary Chaincase Lubricant in my '89 and later started using the Formula + I use in my 2003.

 

I'm hearing Hitchcock screaming in my head.

 

what he is referencing is if you go to the hd online store, you can no longer find formula + listed. i've been wondering this myself. can't find it online, but the local store has heard nothing about discontinuing it.....

 

yes, it's no longer on their web site. i've always used mobil 1 v-twin in my other bikes primarys but i thought i give the formula + a try. this new tri-glide has some kind of slipper clutch in it and i thought i stay with what HD is recommending. if HD is recommending their syn, 3 i will just go with mobil 1.
