Default Black pipes

About to make my purchase on headers. Currently have stock headers and chrome slip ons. I could easily keep the chrome slip ons and add chrome headers....but that's too easy. I really want black. Questions:

Anyone have issues with black pipes fading?

Will powder coating my slip ons match the color of a black aftermarket header?

Just curious as to those who've went the dark side and ditched the chrome.

I have Fulsac header. The stock heat shields fit on it, so I had them ceramic coated black. I coated my slip-ons too. No problems.

HD black heat shield work just fine they are not power coated it will not stand up to the heat. Black looks great on some bikes on my Red it worked well. Also had Black HD nightstick pipes. The Stock heat shield worked prefect with Fuel moto 2-1-2 header

The Harley (2009) Nightstick 2 into 1 has held up well so far. The Patriot Defender it replaced needed a touch up after Year 3 and close to 40,000 miles. Hi Temp grill paint worked great. (I think black pipes are easier to maintain.)

I had my shields and muffers ceramic coated a couple years ago. Looks the same now as then.

For a couple hundred more you could get a complete exhaust such as V&H Big Radius. Had them on my yellow Road Glide and liked them.

i almost did black when i had my stage one done. they didn't have the slip on's in black so i had them go chrome instead rather than wait. was probably the best move. i don't always spend time cleaning the bike and get a lot of wet road rides and the chrome pipes get dirty, i can't imagine black ones in between cleanings.

That's the point of black IMO. The black ones can be sponged off in seconds and leave no fingerprints, swirl marks, nothing. I run my detailer spray across the whole bike (in sections,) and everything cleans up quickly with little buffing, just a wipe down.

I have RUSH Racing True Duals and Big Louie mufflers...

The black looks as good now as it did when I put it on a year ago.

Easy clean up, but I always thought the chrome cleaned up easy also.
