I went with the Harley 12" Batwing Mini Apes and all the related Harley cables. I spent weeks trying to figure out if I needed to spend the extra money on extended cables, trying to find cheaper alternatives, something used, etc. Finally, my bud let me ride his Ultra with the same set up and that sealed the deal for me. It was by far the best set up out of all the other bars I have checked out (whether it be at the shows or on other peoples bikes). I found that the Harley bars felt the best because they have limited pull back (1.5 or 1.75" I believe) and they are actually 12 inches (not 11.5 or 13 like the other manufacturers 12" bars). I also got a ton of peace of mind knowing that all the parts are proven/tested, and under a real warranty. Hope that helps.

Oh BTW, I'm 6 foot even and have a 72 inch reach. I'm having trouble posting pics of my Street Glide with the new bars, sorry but I'll keep trying.

You must have trouble finding long sleeve shirts.

I have a 11 SG and I went with 12" Hellrazors from HHI, all internal wiring and streamlined.

mines an 09 SG. no difference. I went with 10" yaffee's. I liked the style and quality of the bars and didn't want to go above fairing. Kept stock wiring but went +2 on the clutch and brake cables. I have no regrets.

Personally, I prefer the look of fairing mounted mirrors over handlebar mounted ones. 10's will render your stock mirrors useless.

If you have the funds, definitely go with pre-wired. Hill Country Customs has lots of great bars with great quality and they sell them pre-wired and with all the controls too. It was a lot of work and aggravation wiring my bars and the stock wires will just barely make it through a 14" set with enough left sticking out to connect the extensions. With a 16" or higher you will have to pre-connect the extensions and then its a real pain to get them through the small hole and inside and through the bars.

I see there are many opinions on bar height and brands.I was stronly considering Hillcountrycustomer but really am affraid to due to the negative reveiws even from my local HD dealer. They by far have the best deal and even chrome controls with there package.Really affraid ordering something you can't see

I have the Harley Bat Wing mini apes as well. I've but theses bars on my bike and one other. Didn't replace anything on either bike. Used all stock cables and wires.
