Default Ape hangers for 2012 streetglide

Would love to hear what others have purchased. This will be my winter project. Do I go prewired or raw parts? Thanks

I also have a 2012 SG.
last month, I had a 12" Yaffee Bagger bars installed. Great upgrade! I have better control of the bike and its more comfortable than the stock bar. I'm 5'11 and it's a good size and I have the bar pulled back a bit for more comfort. Maybe out of vanity, I wonder what 14" feels like but I'm happy.

16 inch LA Chopper "touring" bars here. They are spread pretty wide apart. I like it that way.

I did 16" KST Kustoms Mayhem bars. I'm 6' but have a long torso and shorter legs so the 16's are spot on for me, it's one of the best upgrades I've done. Helped with my shoulder pain. Did the install myself. If I did it again I'd make my own wire extensions vs buying a kit. I'd buy a spool of good wire and some heat shrink. I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron so that helps. A third hand (found at harbor freight) is good for holding the wire ends while soldering.

I just did the 12" Yaffe's which are like everyone elses 14's. I am very happy with them. I did not buy wire extensions. I bought a roll of wire and soldiered the wires. I cut the original harness in a staggered pattern and used the exact same sixe extension. It made the process easy plus have to keep the bundle small because they have to go through the bars.
It's the extended clutch cable that will kick you butt Everything else was fairly straight forward.

I did the KST Mayhems, installed them myself, pulled the wires myself, but, if I would do it again I guess I'd probably look for pre wired bars, it would just make the whole job that much easier.

Cool

I'll be getting the HCC pre-wired bars that have the chrome controls already mounted. They're a little more but saves me time and aggrivation!! I'm 6'4" and still deciding between 14" and 16".

Just did 12" MBB, much better feel over the stock bars. Wired them myself and I had no issues. Did both sides in about 30 minutes. Best part about the 12" bars is I only lose the very tops of my fairing mounted mirrors.

Different company's measure bars differently.Check before ordering bars and wiring kits if needed? Ohh,Yaffe's pass the pickup by the bars test.
Don't ask but, believe me i found out the hardway
