Default How to look up Harley-Davidson part numbers--easy as 1,2,3

"Teach a man to fiche":

go here:

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche.....asp?make=hdmc

select year

select model

then assembly

and you'll see an exploded diagram

You can compare part changes from year to year...see when a part was introduced ( a 2 digit number after a hyphen denotes the year of introduction, a letter suffix shows a revision) and "what fits what"

You don;t have to sign up, or buy parts from these Guys- but you can.

When I needed to rebuild by saddlebag (before the recall was done), I used Ronnie's fiche to get all the correct parts. Other online fiche I tried didn't list the custom painted lid or bottom, only the primed stuff. (Ronnie's got the sale too!) Love that fiche.

Several of the HD dealers have links to the OEM parts finder (same as Granite State)

Good day mike,
Awesome, I never saw this before,

I also use Granite. For a long time the years covered by all these sites was limited, but Granite opened up a great many more, going back into the mists of time. It seemed to me that the others followed, some time later. I must admit to using them frequently, although being overseas I've never given them any business.
