Default Non-stock handlebars and heated grips

I could probably get this info from the dealer but you guy are smarter. I have a 2016 Ultra Limited with heated grips and am interested in getting a set of handle bars that are 2” closer to me. When I go to the Harley catalog they make mention of the Batwing handles bars I would like, except it says not for heated grips. Is the reason because the power cord for the grips is to short or some other reason like no hole to run the wires? Is there any easy fix such as splicing in a longer set of wires or drilling another hole to accommodate the 2 inch offset?
