Howard hog horn relay issue
I installed the Howard hog horns. I have had to replace the relay twice. I have tripled check the wire is correct. I keep the switch on the bars always on. I just turn the switch on and off on the tank. So if by keeping the switch on the bars on is that what might be making the relay go bad? Or do I need to add a fuse going to the relay?

you should have a fuse between the relay and the battery if that is where you are getting power.
the compressor pulls alot of power, that is why we use relays to avoid straining the wiring and switches on the stock electrical system.
I had crap luck with the HH the diaphragms would jam and it sounded like a sick cow.
been using a HD air horn I bought cheep from a forum member.
if you used their directions for wiring, could you post a link?
I'm not sure why you reference a switch on the bars- you should only have a horn button switch ( momentary) and when it's presses on it should go honk

There are so many variables within models, model years and owner mods that it would be hard to make "plug and play"- a proper install requires attaching directly to the battery both the + and - .
automotive relays are good for thousands of cycles- I think if the OP is burning up relays there be be an issue with his wiring
