Mean City Cycles - Seat Mod. Happy Customer
Another happy customer of Mean City Cycles. I thought I would post a couple PICS of what they call their Double Decker modification. I am 6' and weigh about 240lbs. I told them I wanted to go down 2" (or as far as they could) without loosing any comfort. They recommended this mod. and put in two layers of memory foam. You can get an idea from the side stitching how much lower the seat is now. It feels perfect, but weather hasn't permitted me to give it a proper ride. I also told them I like to tour 500-600 miles daily, so long days are the norm for me. I am very pleased with the results. Shipping from Washington State was spendier than I was ready for, but still worth it. I thought some photos would be helpful to those considering a seat modification.

Im assuming thats the factory cover still on it? My stock seat started a little tear at one of the stitches. Im probly gonna send mine in for at least a recover. Was wondering what people think of leather vs vinyl. And to the op we are close to height and weight. What made you decide 2" lower?

That's it exactly. I didn't have a problem being flat footed before, just wanted to be more "in" the bike vs. "on" it. My knees are really bent now when flat footed on the floor for sure - feels nice. Should give me a little better center of gravity as far as handling is concerned too. Also, hoping it will bring me a little below the buffeting zone as well. Being lower also makes it feel like the bars are a bit taller. I will know more once I can get it out on the road, but that may be a while here in Washington. Oh, and yes, that's the factory cover.
