Wow what a great idea. That away the car behind you cant blind you with their bright headlights.

I don't think the monitor would handle the elements very well, they're not built for outdoors applications. Also, I think the brightness of the monitor would impede on your vision at night.

This would be far easier, if you are one that is prone to technology.

that helmet is really cool, but not my style... I think it is for more of the ducati crowd...not to mention it is mad expensive...$50 or so for a rear camera that gets rid of the mirrors I can do though..

Against the law here, and probably in many states. Have to have at least one mirror. Telling a cop the camera works probably won't fly until the law is changed, and once they start requiring DOT approval you can kiss that $50 price tag goodbye...

I've heard -- but have not confirmed for myself -- that a mirror will project an image of what's behind you if placed in the right spot.

Harley needs to come up with a heads up windshield display before Indian beats them to it.

Hear here.

Another solution for a problem that doesn't exist.

On trucks, buses... SUVs, when backing can be a good aid, but are still not a replacement for mirrors.

those backup mirrors don't have to look far, they only keep you from bumping into something right behind you. to get the width of field that mirrors give you will require a camera with a wide angle lens and the distorted image that goes with it. but it's good to be thinking outside the box.
