Default Options for taller mirrors

I wanted to add split vision/blind spot mirrors to my 2015 FLHTK so I purchased the HD model: http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...vision-mirrors

I like the split vision but the mirrors are too low on my stock handlebars. Moving to different handle bar is not on my agenda but I'd like the mirrors to sit a little higher.

The only option available for HD was the Mirror Extension Kit: http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...-extension-kit

I added these yesterday but I'm not thrilled with the round post to milled mirror arm. I've seen the "skeleton hand" mirrors on other bikes and those have a longer arm but I don't want the skeleton theme.

Anyone seen split mirrors with longer stems?

I use the Kuryakyn mirror extensions #1444 on my Road Glide. Moves them "Outward 3 inches and slightly upward". With stock placement I was staring at my shoulders, moved them out enough that I see just some of my shoulder and plenty behind me; especially in the winter with bulkier winter coat on.

I use them too with small spot mirrors from Tractor Supply.

I bought a set of HD Sportster 1" extended mirrors off of e bay for under $30. Not sure why HD did this on the Sportster and not Tourers but it was stock on some models. Worked great for me and kept the stock mirror look. The extension is between the bends so the mirror moves outward 1".
