I had a Craftsman red for 10 years. Never a problem with my Softail.....

Then I got the Ultra... the Craftsman worked, but the Ultra was no where near as sturdy on the jack as the Softail... no worries.. it was workable

After another year, lifting two bikes, the Craftsman jack finally started showing it's age....

I decided to get a J&S... it took awhile before I would commit to spending that much on a jack....

The difference is significant!!

The craftsman, probably harbor freight, and others will undoubtably work.....

But if you can scrape up the money, the J&S is sooo much better. It's certainly worth the extra $$$$

Just my 2 cents.....

I wonder what a used J&S is worth? Given my age, I have a lot fewer years ahead of me than behind. The day I hang up my boots I wonder what I would be able to sell a J&S Jack for? the true cost would be the difference and might not be so bad.

I would think a used J&S would be worth $200 in great condition? A used HF or craftsman would be worth $25 or so? I might be over thinking it......lol

Default Moto Jack

Moto Jack built by Handy industry's, are these Jacks any good , I don't mind spending the money for j&so but with shipping up to almost $480.
Found a used moto jack for under $200. , I contacted Handy industry's , and a new bottle jack is under $80. inc. Shipping , so if bottle is bad I have that much figured out under $ 300. and it seam and is built kinda like a j&s jack and goes up to 21" total height . What ya think ?

Here's a link to there jack ;http://www.handyindustries.com/products/jack-360

That jack looks a lot like the J&S....!

Regardless, Handy sells the motorcycle lift table that all others compare themselves to. I would be shocked if they sold a sub standard jack.......

I does look almost exactly like the J&S. About the same price as well.
