15 SGS Ape question
I purchased some 12in KST bars and plan to install them myself. I got cable extensions. The place I purchased the parts said that I would be fine with what I had. I called the dealer today to get a quote on them doing it just to see. Since I am a bit intimidated by messing with the cables. They said 800 plus id have to change the brake lines.
I still want to do this myself to save the cash, but do I really need to replace the cables going to 12in internally ran??
Thanks

I have the same bars, 12" KST Kustoms Mayhem Baggers, sitting in my garage, waiting for me to find the time to install. Everything I've found says we do NOT need any additional items. The brake and clutch lines are long enough, and the wires just need to be re-routed inside the fairing.
Here's a great video to watch before hand.

The only extensions you should get are the hand control wire extensions that are plug and play. $27. Why waste time moving the plug caddy on the back of the radio when you can buy extensions for $27. Brake and clutch lines are long enough, as is the TBW.
I have done 10" and 14" on a 2014 SGS and 10" bars on a 2015 Limited Low. All that was needed were the wire extensions.

Thank you
Granted I havent watched the video in detail yet, so maybe it is covered, but can you elaborate or maybe point me to a place to get a visual of what you mean. I think thats my biggest concern on doing it myself is messing with the brake line and jacking something up.
Im a noob when it comes to replacing parts other than pipes.

By crack it, I mean just barely loosen, say 1/8 turn??? Just enough that the line doesn't move freely at the reservoir w/o a little hand influence by you. As you loosen the line bolt, the line may want to turn with it. Thats about all that needed to 'crack' it. Reposition line and retighten bolt. You are trying to avoid air getting into the system thus needing bleed. It'll be clear once you put the wrench to it
