When to replace your harley battery ?

where did you [ick up your big crank battery.

my battery is 5 yrs old. Completely dead

In this part of the country, 2 years. I got 2 1/2 years out my OEM battery in my car.

I replace when I get repeated slow starts and the battery doesn't pass a load test with flying colors. I replace them with Big Crank batteries which I get online, here:

A lot of the time it is your starter clutch as opposed to your battery.

If your worried it will fail,replace it and then you won't worry about it for a while.

I believe this to be excellent advice. Everytime I start my bike I'm headed somewhere. Nothing is cheap when you absolutely have to have it.

How cca's does everyone buy? My last battery was about 300 I think. Wondering if I should buy a heartier batrtery for a few dollars more....?

Yup, that. Still running orig battery in my 09. That's probably pushing my luck as far as I care to. I'd really hate to have it peter out on this years big trip.

for my Road King I use the ETX30L. I think it has right around 400 CCA.

Yes. I think Amazon a Big Crank for about $109. May be less once spring hits.
