I remember 2 1/2 years ago, sitting in the stealership agonizing over which bike I wanted. I knew it would be my LAST new bike purchase. I really wanted the Road King Classic, but just couldn't give up the features that the Anniversary offered. The biggest issue for me was those dang beautiful chrome spokes and white wall tires. But alas, I went with the Anniversary Edition and rode he home. Always thinking in my head..... I wish I had those wheels and tires. If I just had those stinkin' wheels (and apes, lol) I would have finally possessed my dream bike. Well, thanks to another forum member, I will finally be happy. He as a Power Pack Road King but always wanted the chrome mag wheels. So a UPS swap is under way and hopefully BOTH of us will be happy! In a week from now, baby gets a new pair of shoes!!!

Bikerlaw, what are those extra lights you have on the crash bar. Where do you get them.

That's what I did. More out of necessity than looks. The previous owner didn't take care of them and I didn't want to chance a flat miles from home. I went with street glide wheels.

I did the opposite on a bike 4 or 5 years ago. I like spoke but worry about them getting bent.

They are just cheap KC Daylighters. They were 100w bulbs when I bought them, but I pulled out the 100's and installed a set of 55w H3's. With all 5 lights blaring forward, when I was forced to dim them for oncoming traffic, the 100's were so bright that I was pretty much night blind. The 55's work much better. Still a mountain of extra light, but they don't erase my night vision.

Yeah, it seems most people want the Mags vs the Spokes these days. But not me! Hell, this Road king is the first motorcycle I have owned in almost 40 years of riding, that doesn't have spokes. I'm totally OK with the issues that come with spokes. And I am willing to deal with them as they come. I'm totally that...."Form over function" cave man from yesterday.

I love spokes and when I need to clean more than just wiping them down I use some Meguiars chrome wheel cleaner. I spray it on, leave it on about half a minute then rinse it off. The wheels come out great with no scrubbing beyond drying.

My little helper, Mango, wanted to be in the picture too!
