Default Ultra Classic stalls out, speedo stopped working, no turn signals

On a local ride this afternoon, the ultra classic starts to stall at every red light, the speedo stopped working (no backlight, the odometer doesnt illuminate). Turn signals stopped working, jorn stiopped wokring, the brake lights stopped working (headlights and running lights still work).

I tried to check codes, but the odometer isnt working for me to check them. I check the battery cables on the battery and they are tight.

Its almost like when your alternator goes out in a car. If i dont keep the engine revved, the headlights will dim and the engine will stall out.

Im new to working on Harleys but very mech inclined. What should i look for? Fuses, charging system, battery? I dont think its fuel related because of the other electrical issues that started happening at the same time.

I forgot to mention that the bike cranks fine, it just stalls out after riding for a minute or two.

anyways......I'd check that battery first........also see what the charging system is doing.......the alternator gauge should be showing about 14.5 volts.....it can show that and the battery can still be dead......wont take a charge anymore but the system is working thats why it will still show 14.5........

My battery did some stupid **** on the way home from Laconia few years back.......had to keep it revved at the lights..........had a little trouble turning over it but it did and fired up.........so i would guess you're have the same prob right about now.

When i turn the switch to run, the gauge reads about 11V.

While cranking, it dips to about 10V

Then while running, it will rise to about 13-14V

If your blinkers don't work either and it won't idle, check fuses. I have an 03 and it quit if I let off the throttle, and the blinkers didn't work. I had a blown fuse caused by a short when I used the lighter. New fuse and a new lighter fixed it.

Might be a stupid question, but where are the fuses located?

Depends on year and model, most are under the left side cover.

Here is a site you can enter your year and model then look at the Main Wiring Harness and it will give you an idea where to look.

Here's an example 2003 Electra Glide. Look for the fuse box on the left side and relays under the seat.
